Dear Members and Readers,

Six months of our thirtieth anniversary year have passed. The beginning and the end of this half-year period couldn’t be any different: in January this year everyone was still working remotely and monitoring the Covid-19 infection rates. Then, from the morning of 24 February, images of war suddenly came to shock the civilized world – yet they also powered a massive and largely unseen humanitarian effort to help and care for millions of refugees escaping from Ukraine. Our collective response has been fantastic and BPCC members stood at the forefront of the response. As a token of admiration for that help, our previous edition of Contact Magazine Online was entirely focused on CSR and the humanitarian help generously provided by the BPCC members. The topic of helping refugees from Ukraine continues to be seen in our events, with a special focus on legal, financial and operational aspects of that help. The BPCC team will stay committed to the cause.

Our four regional events in May  and June were the first get-together meetings that are part of the thirtieth anniversary. The Nice to Meet You Again series of events in Poznan, Wroclaw, Katowice and Warsaw brought together local members and guests to celebrate and simply catch up with everyone. Total attendance at those four events exceeded 350 people, which shows the strength of our network and our ability to stay close to our members and stay relevant with topics and activities. We will visit Kraków after the summer break, as was the case last year. We have also signed a partnership agreement with SGH Warsaw School of Economics, Poland’s oldest and most prestigious business school, to facilitate cooperation with our members. More details on this agreement – and the value it will add to the BPCC network – soon.

In early June we announced the first VIP guest for our 30th Anniversary Gala Dinner on Thursday 13 October at Warsaw’s Intercontinental Hotel: the one and only Kasia Madera from BBC World! As you have seen by now, she will be joined by UK business leader, Lord Bilimoria of Chelsea. This will be a fantastic night and you can’t miss it!

Our Annual General Meeting takes place on Thursday 15 September; all communication will be sent out in due course over the summer. In September our digital ‘face’ will also change – but we ‘don’t want to spill any beans’ right now, so stay tuned 🙂

Last but certainly not least, we wish everyone safe and happy holidays!
