We are moving towards a massive decarbonisation of the European aviation sector. Aircraft will increasingly fly on green fuels, which may require changes in infrastructure and airport organisation.
On 9 October 2023, the Council of the EU adopted the Regulation on ensuring a level playing field for sustainable aviation (ReFuelEU Aviation). This is an ambitious first step towards a greener aviation sector. However, it may require additional investment. It is therefore worth knowing what lies ahead.
