Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised R.Power S.A. on the sale of Magazyn Energii Tursko Wielkie sp. z o.o., a company that owns the ready-to-built 250 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) project located in Tursko Wielkie, Poland, to ENGIE Zielona Energia sp. z o.o. (ENGIE).
“The Tursko Wielkie project is one of the largest single utility-scale BESS projects being developed in the Polish market and forms part of the first wave of large-scale energy storage projects in the country, serving as a reference point for future projects in Poland and the wider region,” said White & Case partner Maciej Zalewski, who led the Firm’s deal team. “The transaction reflects increasing investor appetite for large-scale energy storage assets, which support the energy transition, system flexibility and energy security.”
R.Power is a leading European independent power producer and developer of large-scale renewable energy and battery storage projects, with operations in Poland, Romania, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Germany. The company is developing a portfolio of energy projects with a total capacity of more than 30 GW.
ENGIE is a global energy company, operating in 30 countries and employing more than 90,000 people.
