Foundations for the future: Kochański & Partners advised Air Products on the sale of real property to KGHM

Air Products is a global leader in the area of industrial gas. KGHM is a Polish champion in the mining and metallurgy sector, and one of the world’s largest producers of copper and silver. The two companies, which have enjoyed a long-standing business relationship, have just finalised a complex transaction, with Kochański & Partners providing legal advice and support to Air Products throughout the sale process.

The long-standing relationship between Air Products and KGHM, coupled with the need to address numerous complex issues within the transaction, required us to demonstrate a combination of in-depth legal expertise, strategic thinking and a creative approach during negotiations. We are proud to have advised our client on this project, says Paweł Cholewiński, Partner and Head of the Transactional Practices Group / Real Estate, M&A at Kochański & Partners.

Kochański & Partners support included:

  • Legal and strategic advice: Advising on the transaction from the initial analysis through to structuring and closing
  • Terminating complex agreements: Successfully negotiating and terminating long-term property agreements, which was crucial to the project’s success
  • Drafting and negotiating transaction documents: Drafting and refining all the necessary documents to protect the interests of Air Products
  • Coordinating and closing the sale: Efficiently managing the entire process to ensure a smooth execution

Paweł Cholewiński was supported in his work on the project by Weronika Duda and Paulina Majewska from the Real Estate Practice

Social Impact EMEA – Kochański & Partners’ vision for development recognised in Europe

In a world facing unprecedented environmental, social, legal and economic challenges, bold, visionary and sustained action is urgently needed to address these problems. Action that, by restoring justice and balance, will help repair the damage and rebuild a sense of community and responsibility.

That is why the Social Impact EMEA Awards aim not just to recognise and celebrate positive examples and outstanding achievements, but above all to inspire and encourage others to follow suit. To create a widespread movement of individuals and organisations who will boldly and consistently change the world for the better. And who will support the creation and strengthening of good laws and develop programmes and tools to turn noble ideas into tangible results, according to the Legal Benchmarking Group website.

“This is our vision, our struggle and our goal. We are therefore delighted to have been shortlisted for this unique award in two categories: ‘Professional Development Firm of the Year’ for our employee professional development programme, and ‘Mentorship Programme of the Year’ for our proprietary mentoring programme,” say the representatives of Kochański & Partners.

People at the heart of change

Kochański & Partners acknowledge that being part of the global community is a commitment, and recognise that change begins with small, local steps.

This is why the Firm is committed to developing its own good practices, projects and initiatives. This philosophy has led it to a nomination that proves investing in people is the best strategy for the future.

Forty internal ESG projects last year alone is no coincidence, but the result of a carefully thought-out and consistently implemented strategy. In fact, we have already significantly exceeded that number by now. This perfectly illustrates where we are heading, emphasises Diana Tavera, Partner and Chair of the ESG Committee at Kochański & Partners.

Kochański & Partners are members of the UN Global Compact and the Women’s Empowerment Principles, and have signed the Diversity Charter. They have earned another EcoVadis silver medal and are actively supporting Ukrainian students.

The Firm emphasises that each of its initiatives, from waste sorting in the office to defending freedom of speech in Europe, stems from the same source: a sense of responsibility.

Kochański & Partners joined United Legals for Good to bring Poland closer to a global circular economy

Unfortunately, the depletion of resources and associated climate change are clearly visible and tangible processes. Therefore, the question is no longer whether or when businesses should respond to these challenges, but how.

Kochański & Partners are already working on specific solutions. That is why they have joined the United Legals for Good initiative, created by the United Nations Global Compact Network Poland. This is a unique coalition of law firms and consulting companies committed to the UN’s 2030 Agenda.

Its mission is simple yet significant: to use the knowledge, authority and experience of the participating lawyers to develop proposals for sound legislation that will help Poland achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and implement key United Nations conventions and standards.

Kochański & Partners are taking on the role of national leader in the areas of the circular economy and extended producer responsibility (EPR), and will support the development of both good practices and the most transparent processes possible.
