Prague, 22 October 2024 – The Masaryk Centre office and commercial complex, designed by the Zaha Hadid Architects and developed by Penta Real Estate, was built in Prague, Czech Republic, near the Masaryk station, on abandoned former railway areas. The buildings of unique architecture and quality have characteristic golden façades. The complex has been constructed following the sustainable development rules and is subject to LEED certification. The project used, among others, solutions from the illbruck brand, an expert in sealing, bonding and insulating windows, doors and façades in energy-saving and passive construction.
The Masaryk Centre office and commercial complex, with an area of 28,000 m2, was completed in 2024. Its eastern part is seven storeys high and the western part is nine storeys high. Thanks to the external ribs of the west façade, which provide shade in summer and give it a vertical composition of space, the building refers to the spiers of the Old Town in Prague, called the “city of a hundred spiers”.
This is the first project by Zaha Hadid Architects that was developed in Prague, Czech Republic. The Masaryk Centre complex representing unique architecture is being certified in the LEED system and is applying for its highest level – Platinum. The buildings feature numerous green solutions, including a double-insulated façade that provides access to natural light in all office rooms and common spaces, hybrid ventilation and a highly efficient installation with heat recovery systems, and intelligent management systems.
The modern technologies used in the Masaryk Centre office and commercial complex in Prague include innovative solutions for bonding and sealing façade joints. When assembling the façade supplied by SIPRAL, illbruck materials for joint sealing, EPDM foils in particular, manufactured and supplied by Tremco CPG were used.
The unique design of the Masaryk Centre complex, developed by the famous Zaha Hadid Architects, incorporating innovative materials and construction technologies, refers to the historic Old Town in Prague and successfully combines tradition with modernity.
