On 20 November 2025, a training session entitled “Sustainable Development – A New Paradigm of Business Management” took place at the Wrocław Centre for Technology Transfer, organised by the BPCC and the WCTT of Wrocław University of Science and Technology.

The main part of the programme was delivered by Dr Beata Kozyra – an expert with over 20 years of experience in ESG, a member of the Sustainable Development Committee at the National Chamber of Commerce, and ESG Director at Grant Thornton Frąckowiak. In her presentations, she discussed the most important aspects of implementing ESG strategies: from facts and myths, through decarbonisation planning, to developing a strategy that becomes a core element of modern business operations. She also outlined the practical aspects of supplier audits, the functioning of Ecovadis assessments, and the new sustainability reporting requirements in line with CSRD, ESRS and VSME.

The second part of the event featured a presentation by Paul Rawlings, Launch Manager at Klöckner Pentaplast, focused on building genuine PET circularity. Paul presented his organisation’s efforts to increase the recyclability of materials and the use of recycled content within KP’s product portfolio. He discussed the impact of evolving EU regulations on the plastics sector, as well as the challenges associated with implementing innovative solutions in the industry, such as the lack of uniform standards, differences in recycling infrastructure and limitations related to the quality of recovered materials.
