The third of the BPCC’s Nice to Meet You series of business mixers was held in the Bristol Hotel, Warsaw, on the evening of 24 June 2021. Like the Wrocław and Poznań events held on the two previous Thursdays, the mixer once again attracted the maximum number of participants allowed by current sanitary regulations. Held in the patio outside the Bristol Hotel’s Moniuszko restaurant, the event was blessed by a dry interlude between a light shower and a heavy downpour. Once again, there was an overwhelming sense that people had come to enjoy the chance to meet up finally, to chat, to swap business cards, and to return to some semblance of normal life.
The event was officially opened by Paweł Siwecki, BPCC’s CEO, and Barbara Stachowiak, BPCC board member, after which our VIP guest, Her Majesty’s Ambassador, Anna Clunes, welcomed everyone with a short speech. She focused on the potential of closer environmental partnership between the UK and Poland in the run-up to the UN climate conference in Glasgow this November.
Before the social part of the evening got under way, there was a panel discussion focused on the direction of growth of Poznań’s economy post Covid. The panellists were Dominika Dębowska, manager of outsourcing at Grant Thornton; Christopher Brzozka, associate manager at Michael Page, and Tomasz Buras, CEO of Savills Polska for a round of questions moderated by the BPCC’s chief advisor, Michael Dembinski. The aim of the panel was to hear how the Polish economy had been affected by the pandemic, and in particular, how the recruitment and real estate markets were faring – and how the biggest driver of demand for those resources continues to be shared services and business-process outsourcing.
After the lively panel discussion full of quality insights, there was an excellent buffet supper accompanied by exclusive drinks from Pernod Ricard. As at the Wrocław and Poznań events in previous weeks, spirited conversations carried on until late in the evening!
The BPCC would like to thank sponsors Grant Thornton, Savills Poland, Michael Page for ensuring such an excellent return to face-to-face business networking.
The next Nice to See You Again mixer will be held in Kraków on Thursday 9 September.Venue host:
