International law firm CMS has advised R.Power Renewables on the up to PLN 190m financing by Powszechna Kasa Oszczędności Bank Polski S.A. for the construction of a photovoltaic portfolio with a total capacity of about 59 MWp.

R.Power is a leading independent solar power producer in Poland, expanding its operations into Romania, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Germany. R.Power’s activities encompass the entire solar energy sector value chain, including photovoltaic power plant development, construction (Engineering Procurement & Construction), power plant operation (Operations & Maintenance), and renewable energy production (Independent Power Producer).

PKO Bank Polski is one of the largest Polish banks and a joint stock company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2004. One of the pillars of the bank’s strategy for 2023-2025 is to support ESG transformation. In 2023, the bank financed PLN 2.2bn of sustainable and transformational projects, including RES projects.

CMS Poland’s Banking and Finance team was responsible for, among others, negotiating the finance documents.
