The state-of-the-art Duda-Cars showroom and service centre, combining luxury and future-oriented technologies with care for the natural environment, has been built in Lasocice near Leszno. The facility was designed by Bernatek Architekci and constructed by Dekpol Budownictwo. It features a wide range of durable, high-performance flooring solutions from Flowcrete, a leading expert in resin flooring.
The Duda-Cars showroom, with an area of over 2,800 m², is one of the most modern investments of its kind in Poland. It features a number of innovative solutions, including advanced diagnostic scanners, a key dispenser and fast 150 kW charging stations. In addition, in line with the idea of sustainable construction, the building uses, among other things, geothermal heat pumps, photovoltaics, rainwater retention and a BMS management system that optimises energy consumption.
Specific requirements for flooring in individual zones
For this modern facility, specifically the cars display area in the lobby, the investor was looking for a flooring solution that would be durable and robust, yet visually appealing. In accordance with Mercedes-Benz guidelines, the surface on which the cars are displayed should resemble a road surface, while also being pleasant to the eye and giving the impression of ‘softness’ when walking on it. The interior design features light grey and dark grey ‘stone carpet’ areas, separated by smooth lines and combined with wood-effect panels.
The service centre required flooring that was resistant to vehicle traffic and chemically resistant to fuels, engine oil, battery acid, automotive fluids, and chloride ions contained in de-icing salts brought in on tyres, while also being non-slip and easy to keep clean.
In the warehouse where parts and substances used for vehicle maintenance and servicing are stored, it was necessary to use a flooring system that was mechanically and chemically resistant, yet easy to clean.
Impressive Rustik flooring covering 600 m² in the car showroom area
“In the exhibition area, it was crucial to combine aesthetics in line with Mercedes-Benz brand standards with high material durability. The solution used met our expectations in terms of both visual appearance and functionality,” – says Michał Salamon, Investment Manager at Duda-Cars.
For the car display area, experts from Tremco CPG proposed Flowcrete’s Rustik. This flooring solution had already been used and met expectations in other Mercedes-Benz facilities, including the Duda-Cars showroom in Wrocław.
It is a decorative flooring system with high aesthetic and functional qualities, made of various types of aggregates with carefully selected fractions and colours, surrounded and bonded with transparent epoxy resin. High mechanical strength, especially resistance to abrasion, impact and pressure, makes this flooring system ideal for finishing display areas, even for heavy vehicles. The rough texture of the floor prevents slipping, and the spaces between the aggregate grains make it easy to keep clean, while also reducing dust accumulation on car bodies.
At the Duda-Cars showroom in Lasocice near Leszno, the Rustik floor was made from coloured quartz aggregate with a diameter of approx. 3 mm, in two colours: light and dark grey.
Durable Deckshield car park flooring in the service area
The service centre, covering an area of approx. 220 m², features Flowcrete’s flagship garage flooring system – Deckshield ID, in Dark Grey, based on polyurethane resins and quartz sand. This flexible and waterproof coating, designed to protect surfaces in car parks, is also suitable for use in workshops and car washes.
The Deckshield ID flooring, approx. 1.5 mm thick, is resistant to mechanical loads, including heavy vehicle traffic, as well as chemical loads, including the effects of substances found in cars and used in their servicing. Thanks to its non-slip texture, it has a positive impact on employee safety.
Wear-resistant Peran SL epoxy flooring in the warehouse
Due to the high requirements for flatness, mechanical and chemical resistance, Tremco CPG‘s resin flooring experts recommended the use of Peran SL epoxy flooring, designed for rooms with medium to heavy traffic, for the approximately 200 m² warehouse. This flooring system has a smooth finish, making it easy to keep clean. In the new Mercedes-Benz Duda-Cars facility, it was applied in a thickness of 2 mm, in grey, with a top coat of Flowseal PU Matt (TP-500) matt polyurethane varnish, which gives the floor additional chemical resistance and increased scratch resistance.
The contractor for the resin flooring in the investment in Lasocice near Leszno was Chemex System, based in Piła, an authorised Flowcrete contractor. A wide range of Flowcrete flooring solutions was used in this project – decorative ‘stone carpet’, garage coating and a universal poured system, which demonstrates the comprehensiveness of this brand’s solutions.
