Media partner International scaling of IT services – a business and legal perspective

All you wanted to know about software distribution, SaaS and open source, but were afraid to ask

Poland is a true breeding ground for talented engineers whose salaries are quite competitive compared to those of their colleagues working in the West.

This is just one of the reasons why multiple IT operators build and develop their IT solutions in Poland which, depending on the strategy, can then be licensed and transferred abroad, e.g. as a basis for businesses to provide global services within the SaaS (Software as a Service) model via SPVs.

However, the transfer of software from Polish to foreign companies entails a number of risks which are often difficult to precisely identify and address. Ensuring that these risks are no longer a threat, but rather a key competitive edge is key to success.

To help you meet all these challenges, we would like to invite you to attend an event featuring experts, Agnieszka Choromańska-Malicka, attorney-at-law and intellectual property law specialist, and Piotr Kaniewski, attorney-at-law and technology transaction specialist, who will discuss possible business models for such ventures and the drafting and negotiation of IT agreements and contracts.

The meeting will provide answers to the most important questions of business operators interested in this area, including:

  • Which cooperation model should be adopted?
  • Which company, Polish or foreign, licenses or actually provides services to end customers in such a situation?
  • Should such companies enter into an agreement and, if so, which one?
  • By whom is personal data actually processed?
  • Which agreements need to be concluded if a SaaS service is provided?
  • Does the use of open source components limit the possibility of distributing software?

Who should attend

The event is addressed to representatives of tech companies interested in global growth and investors considering investing in such companies.
