Special law – stay and employment of refugees from Ukraine

The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy announced on 1 March 2022 that a special law would be adopted within the next few days to make it easier for Ukrainian citizens to legalise their stay and work in Poland.

According to the press release, the special statute will facilitate access to the Polish labour market. All citizens of Ukraine who have crossed the Polish border after 24 February this year will receive a so-called stamp that will entitle them to legally stay, work and receive social benefits in Poland.

Employers will be required to deal with one formal issue only, that is to notify the competent district labour office that they have hired a citizen of Ukraine. No other actions will be necessary.

As soon as we know more details about the special law, we will inform you immediately.
