Trade with Great Britain and Poland after Brexit - online free-of-charge consultations

In response to the agreement regulating the rules of the UK’s departure from the single European market and Customs Union on 1 January, the British Polish Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with experts from Santander Poland and Santander UK, has launched a series of online free-of-charge 30-minute consultations during which you will receive advice regarding various financial aspects of your company operations and trade exchange between Poland and Great Britain following Brexit.

Our experts are waiting for your enquiries on Tuesday 2 February from 13:00 – 15:00 CET (12:00 – 14:00 GMT)
Below is a list of available experts and the scope of the consultations. Please register here brexit@bpcc.org.pl specifying:

1. Your name
2. Company name
3. The expert you wish to contact
4.  If possible, a specific question you would like to ask
5. Preferred time (to choose half-hour time slots from: 13:00/13:30/14:00/14:30 CET. If the chosen time is already booked, we will automatically assign the next available time slot.
The number of consultations is limited.

On 2 February, the following experts will be available for consultation:

1) Anna Wierzbicka - Trade Finance Team manager @ Santander Bank Polska

Area of expertise:
  Foreign Trade
•     how to secure and settle a foreign trade transaction,
•    financing of comercial receivables based on banking solutions (no recourse to the seler, no insurance)
•    acquiring new business partners via the Santander Trade Portal

2) Grzegorz Ogonek - economist @ Santander Bank Polska
He has been working as an economist at Santander Bank Polska since 2017. Previously, he was a financial market analyst at X-Trade Brokers, he also worked at the Ministry of Finance and ING Bank Śląski.

Area of expertise:
Brexit impact on the economy and trade flows.
•    Polish economy and financial markets analysis,
•    Poland’s foreign trade analysis.

3)  Monika Gajek - Manager UK-Poland corridor @ Santander UK
Magdalena Kusa– Manager UK-& US corridor @ Santander Bank Polska

Area of expertise:
•    opening the accounts for the polish companies in the UK and for the UK companies in Poland (general rules and KYC procedure)
•    market entry support

4) Szymon Gruszewski - Head of transaction banking @ Santander Bank Polska

Area of expertise:

5) Dorota Szcześniak  - International Factoring Manager @ Santander Bank Polska

Area of expertise:
•    Debtors risk – how to secure your sales
•    Receivable Financing, Supply Chain Finance/ Payment programs    
•    International factoring

6) Kathryn Smith - International Clients @ Santander UK
Following her return from Santander Brasil, Kathryn Smith managed Santander UK’s International Desk from 2016 to 2019 connecting internationally active corporates with banking services overseas.  Kathryn now works within the bank’s International Clients team, focusing on helping businesses grow through access to Santander’s connections across the globe.

Area of expertise:
•    Account opening for Polish entities interested in opening the accounts in the UK (general rules and KYC procedurte)

7) Paul Williams - Trade and Supply Chain Director @ Santander UK
Paul has worked in the Trade Finance Industry for over 20 years having previously worked for Barclays Bank and Clydesdale Bank. Paul has been with Santander UK for the last 10 years having worked with UK SMEs on their Trade Finance and International requirements. Paul has supports his clients with their working capital needs whilst helping them to grow Internationally.

Area of specialism:
•    Trade and Supply Chain Finance covering Import and export working capital requirements.
•    Trade payment methods including Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections, Bonds and Guarantees.
