Your security in the day of the GDPR
On November 21, 2018, the British-Polish Chamber of Commerce together with Grant Thornton organized the meeting ,,Your security in the day of the GDPR. How did the Polish market adopt the RODO? What are the challenges ahead of us? ‘’. The meeting was held at the headquarters of Thermopatch, a leading manufacturer in the field of labeling, transfers and emblems for textiles.
Mariola Więckowska, an expert at Grant Thornton, described in detail the role, duties and responsibilities of personal data inspector. She emphasized that the most important thing is to work out their own procedures and fill them out, because this will be checked during possible inspection. She also reminded that in all cases it is not necessary to collect consents for the processing of data, e.g. if the data is contained in a contract for the provision of a service or are needed for debt collection. She also took up the absorbing issue of observing the GDPR in HR departments in connection with collecting employee data and collecting CVs from candidates by HR departments. The meeting was accompanied by engaged discussions because the participants had many questions and doubts. At the end, CEO Witold Skrzyński, the host of the meeting, guided the visitors around the plant showing the secrets of printing on textiles, arousing quite a bit of excitement when it turned out that in the Wrocław facility, the transfers for T-shirts of the best football teams in the world were made.
