Mixer brings English-speaking nations together
The Anglo-Nations Business Mixer held on 20 April 2022 at the Hotel Bristol in Warsaw was a great event with a capacity turnout. We were extremely happy to see such a good crowd of BPCC members among the representatives from other English-language speaking chambers of commerce in Warsaw, including the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland (AmCham), the Polish Canadian Chamber of Commerce, the Irish Polish Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise Ireland. It’s clear that as the pandemic eases, the desire among members to meet in person is strong.
The special guests of honour included Their Excellencies the Ambassador of Ireland to Poland, Emer O'Connell, and the Ambassador of Canada to Poland – Leslie Scanlon.
Thank you to our sponsors Hays Polska (Arkadiusz Wargin) and Dobre Wina (Peter Puławski), who supplied and presented the prizes for the business-card raffle draw. And a thank-you too for Andrzej Siess from Raben, for putting together the idea of a mixer for our four chambers.
The service and support from the Hotel Bristol, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Warsaw, was excellent – numerous comments were made about the quality of the food available, in particular amazing smoked salmon, sliced from the fish. A great variety of cuisine specialities were on hand, inspiring discussions in the historic rooms of the Hotel Bristol, which, as BPCC CEO Paweł Siwecki pointed out, was opened in April 1993 by Margaret Thatcher after a major renovation by the British Forte Hotels group.
There was a general consensus among guests to repeat this memorable event in the same successful format in the not-too-distant future.
