Resin floors from Flowcrete, a leading expert in this technology, have received the prestigious Cleanroom Suitable Materials® certificate, which is recognised globally and issued by Fraunhofer IPA research institute (report TR 2501-1581). This certification is awarded to materials like flooring systems or sealing coatings that are tested in a cleanroom according to defined cleanliness criteria.
Cleanrooms are rooms with controlled environmental parameters, particularly concerning contaminants such as particles, bacteria and chemical substances like volatile organic compounds (VOC). They are used for research and development activities, as well as for the production of semiconductors in industries such as electronics, optics, aerospace, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.
The CSM (Cleanroom Suitable Materials) certificate, granted by Fraunhofer IPA research institute, confirms that Flowcrete resin floors are suitable for use in cleanroom environments. The TR 2501-1581 test report covers the following flooring systems: Flowcoat SF41, Flowcoat SF41 LE, Peran SL, Peran ESD SL20, Flowfresh ESD SL, and the following coatings: Hardtop Conductive and Flowcoat PA302.
Flowcrete resin floors that are certified as Cleanroom Suitable Materials® include:
- Flowcoat SF41 – a seamless, smooth, thin-layer epoxy coating with good mechanical and chemical resistance. The floor has confirmed cleanliness (in the Riboflavin Test) at a very good level, and Outgassing Behaviour VOC/SVOC, and Particle Emission in Cleanroom (according to ISO 14644-1) determined as suitable for Air Cleanliness ISO Class: 6.
- Flowcoat SF41 LE – a version of the smooth Flowcoat SF41 floor with low emission of volatile organic compounds. In the case of this system, Outgassing Behaviour VOC/SVOC was stated, and Particle Emission in Cleanroom (according to ISO 14644-1) was determined as Suitable for Air Cleanliness ISO Class: 5. The coating’s cleanliness was confirmed (in the Riboflavin Test) with an excellent result, and also Biological Resistance to both fungi and bacteria was determined as good.
- Peran SL – a self-smoothing epoxy flooring with high abrasion and impact resistance. This flooring system achieves an excellent result in cleanliness (in the Riboflavin Test), its Outgassing Behaviour VOC/SVOC was examined, and Particle Emission in Cleanroom (according to ISO 14644-1) was confirmed as Suitable for Air Cleanliness ISO Class: 5.
- Peran ESD SL20 – an epoxy self-levelling floor with antistatic properties and a smooth and glossy finish, in the case of which Outgassing Behaviour VOC/SVOC was determined, and Particle Emission in Cleanroom (according to ISO 14644-1) was established as Suitable for Air Cleanliness ISO Class: 5.
- Flowfresh ESD SL – an antistatic self-levelling floor with a smooth, matt surface and antimicrobial properties, with Particle Emission in Cleanroom (by ISO 14644-1) determined as Suitable for Air Cleanliness ISO Class: 5.
Flowcrete sealing coatings certified as Cleanroom Suitable Materials® include:
- Hardtop Conductive – an aliphatic coating based on polyurethane resins, used as a conductive sealing layer for antistatic flooring systems, with a confirmed excellent result in cleanliness (in the Riboflavin Test).
- Flowcoat PA302 – a clear, aliphatic polyaspartic resin that provides floors with additional surface protection and a high-gloss finish, with cleanliness (in the Riboflavin Test) established as excellent.
