Rather than the annual International Oktoberfest, which in past years attracted nearly 1,000 participants, this year’s early-autumn mixer, sponsored by Echo Investment and Klöckner Pentaplast and held at The Bridge MGallery Hotel Wrocław, was a far smaller event, limited at 55 guests.
The weather held up well, which meant the mixer took place in the hotel’s gardens and surrounding spaces, so social distancing was maintained (the hotel’s ballroom can accommodate up to 400 participants). As well as exquisitely prepared food based on the Craft* Restaurant culinary-artisanship philosophy, there was an open bar provided (as in Warsaw the previous week) by Pernod Ricard, showcasing some of its great spirits brands.
Marcin Rutkowski, commercial director central Europe, Food Packaging, from Klöckner Pentaplast and Michalina Lewicka, office leasing manager from Echo Investment, gave a few words of welcome, as did the new general manager of The Bridge MGallery Hotel Wrocław, Stefan Bauer, who had just arrived from Austria nine days earlier to take up the position.
BPCC members were clearly delighted for the chance to network socially for the first time in months, secure in the knowledge that all relevant health-and-safety measures had been taken to ensure that Covid-19 would not threaten the convivial atmosphere.
