Poland celebrates in London

The BPCC joined British and Polish governments in celebrating 10 years of Poland's EU membership in London with a British-Polish trade and investment forum. The two-day event, which started at the Guildhall on 21 May, with opening addresses from Fiona Woolf, the Lord Mayor of the City of London, and Poland's deputy foreign minister Katarzyna Kasperczyk.

Processing personal data within a capital group - TMT policy group meeting

On 23 April, the BPCC's Technology, Media and Telecoms policy group met at the British Polish Business Centre to discuss issues surrounding the processing of personal data within a group of firms. The subject is of particular interest to multinational firms with operations in Poland, headquarters in another country, and data processing centres in a third.

The UK section of the British Polish Chamber of Commerce headed by Michael Clay in London has announced a brand new development for fashion and creative industry - a working group gathering members and supporters of this multi billion pounds business in the UK. This is certainly a welcome response to a growing demand on both sides to bring the best of fashions and designs from Poland and the UK.

Prospects and trends in Poland's market for professionals and managers in 2013

The BPCC's HR Policy Group met at the Chamber's headquarters to discuss the labour market for specialists and managers. At the meeting, Artur Skiba, CEO of Antal International, presented the results of the 13th edition of the Antal Global Snapshot report. Special guests were Jacek Męcina, secretary of state in the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, and Agata Mężyńska, director of the Department of Economic Information PAIiIZ.

Good procurement practice, and the new Polish public procurement law

There are only few days left to the entry into force of the amendment to the Public Procurement Law implementing  in Poland the EU Directive from 2014. Poland's law has still not been amended to reflect the far-reaching changes in the Directive. Public procurement and the way it works in practice in Poland has been heavily criticised by foreign - and Polish - business.
