Dryvit, an expert in external wall insulation systems and façade materials, is developing its offer in line with the sustainable construction principles. Dry adhesive mortars of this brand are currently produced based on types of cement with a reduced carbon footprint.

The main binding ingredient of adhesive mortars available on the market is Portland cement. Its industrial production involves the consumption of large amounts of natural resources and is a significant source of greenhouse gas emissions. The production of one tonne of Portland cement releases approximately 1 tonne of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere. To reduce the impact of its activities on the natural environment, Dryvit replaced traditional cement used in the production of dry adhesive mortars with low-emission types of cement.

Low-emission cement is cement with a low carbon footprint that meets the requirements of sustainable development. These types of cement are obtained, among others, by using components with a beneficial effect on technical parameters, by completely or partially replacing traditional ingredients with recycled materials and by using low-energy production methods.

Dryvit uses types of cement with reduced CO2 emissions to produce adhesive mortars such as Dryhesive Plus, Roxhesive, Primus M, and Fibercoat.

Dryhesive Plus is a polymer-modified dry cement mortar that, after mixing with water, is used to glue polystyrene thermal insulation boards in Dryvit façade insulation systems. Roxhesive mortar is used to glue mineral wool boards. Primus M is an adhesive and reinforcing mortar for polystyrene. The fibre-reinforced universal adhesive and reinforcing mortar Fibercoat is a 4-in-1 material – it is used for glueing both polystyrene and mineral wool boards and for embedding fibreglass mesh in the buildings’ external wall insulation systems and Anti Crack Render (ACR), used for repairs of cracked façade.

Dryvit has been setting trends for years. Our brand has introduced thermal insulation systems to the Polish market. Based on our solutions, the Instytut Techniki Budowlanej (ITB) has introduced guidelines for the assessment of thermal insulation systems in Poland. As a socially responsible company, we are constantly looking for ways to reduce the impact of our activities on the environment, hence the decision to use low-emission types of cement with a reduced carbon footprint in the dry adhesive mortars we produce. Thanks to this, our products are more environmentally friendly and at the same time have excellent adhesion and high-performance parameters,” – said Marta Wysocka, Product & Specification Manager in Dryvit Systems USA (Europe) Sp. z o.o.

Dryvit products are available for sale through the brand’s distributor network. When choosing a façade solution, it is worth using the support and technical advice of Dryvit experts in insulation systems and façade materials.
