Real Estate and Construction

The Real Estate & Construction policy group brings together members with an interest in property – development, construction, management and advisory. Its meetings give members the chance to meet fellow professionals to consider the key issues facing the real estate sector in Poland. Observing Chatham House rules to promote open dialogue between participants, policy group members discuss the state of trade and prospects for the coming quarters, and identify common problems. These include zoning and planning permissions; contract enforcement and investor protection in Polish courts; public procurement; and the regulatory environment for the sector. Sustainable investments – including green building – and other new trends in design and architecture are also discussed. The Real Estate policy group promotes Building Information Modelling (BIM), which becomes mandatory for all buildings procured by the UK government after 2016. The group is actively popularising BIM across Poland.
