Brexit questionnaire

We would ask you to spend about 15-20 minutes in giving us an overview of your concerns.

As the triggering of Article 50 draws near, it's essential that the UK government is aware of the concerns of British businesses across the EU. COBCOE, the Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Europe, is engaging with the Department for Exiting the EU and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to ensure that the voice of British firms across the EU is not overlooked in the UK's negotiations with the EU. We have eight questions to ask you, which will help UK negotiators understand how Brexit will affect your business during the period before and after the UK's departure from the EU.

We would ask you to spend about 15-20 minutes in giving us an overview of your concerns, which will be consolidated into COBCOE's submissions to the two departments, the aim of which will be to reduce to a minimum any disruptions that your business may experience in future.

  1. How will Brexit affect your supply chain and other business relations within Poland, between Poland and the UK, and between the EU27 and the UK?

  2. What business relationships does your business have in Poland? How many of those relationships extend outside of Poland?

  3. Where would you like your business to be in five years' time, and what relationships do you hope to rely on in order to get there?

  4. What, if any, impact has the prospect of Brexit already had on your business?

  5. What, if any, impact do you expect Brexit to have on your business over the next 12 months?

  6. What impact do you expect Brexit to have on your business once the UK has completed its withdrawal from the EU (assuming that no agreement is reached between the UK and the EU)?

  7. What steps do you need policy makers to take between the start and the conclusion of withdrawal negotiations to ensure that your business can continue to grow and invest during the negotiation period?

  8. What steps do you need government to take/negotiate during the negotiations so that the UK's withdrawal agreement is implemented with minimum disruption to your business?
