Optimising Energy Costs in Aerospace Manufacturing
The BPCC’s Manufacturing Industries group met in Rzeszów again to discuss one of the most pressing issues facing manufacturers – the dramatic rise in energy prices, and what to do about them.
The event was help on 12 September with Grant Thorton, in the Rzeszów Science & Technology Park by Jasionka Airport. All but one of the BPCC’s aerospace-sector member were present, the direct result of a series of visits to member firms in the region in July.
With energy prices rising by 38% over the past 12 months, manufacturers are worried about what can be done to mitigate the threat of further increases. Three main answers were discussed in detail by Marek Hołubowicz and Andrzej Matyja. The first is to audit energy use in detail, the second lies in smarter negotiations with suppliers, and the third is wise investments in renewable energy. There is certainly the interest to take this topic to other BPCC manufacturing members in the south and south-west of Poland in coming months.
