Optimising business travel – lessons for BPCC members

“An employee’s time  is expensive, so when planning business travel, it’s best to use the services of a travel management company (TMC)," said Elżbieta Zysnarska, from FCm Travel Express during the last meeting of the HR policy group.

The event, which took place on 20 October 2015 was an indication of how, working with a TMC companies can effectively save money on business trips as well as time. Participants learned that special attention should be given by firms to creating a good travel policy, according to the budget for delegations and principles governing the corporation. Facilitate the conduct of your booking flights or hotels also gives the traveller profile creation. What is the profile? All data that are used for arranging travel (first name, last name, preferences, etc.). Introduction of data about visitors to the agency system, it allows her to quicker making any reservation.

Another way to achieve savings is also a selective approach to comfort. "It can happen that a five-star hotel is cheaper than the one that has only three stars. But access to such promotions are usually restricted to TMCs that continually track such offers," said Liliana Zurawska, commercial director of the company Travel Express, who also advised that when talking to a travel agent, price rather than the number of stars a hotel has should be the main criterion.

There was also a speaker from LOT Polish Airlines, who offered some practical solutions to facilitate booking tickets, as well as introducing six new destinations that will be offered by the airline in 2016, including Bangkok, Venice and Ljubljana.
