How can we do better today that which we did yesterday and the day before?

The concept of continuous improvement in production is not new, but the ways in which manufacturers implement it are evolving.

The BPCC and Klöckner Pentaplast Linpac Packaging Production organised a manufacturing policy group meeting focused on savings projects (Business Improvement Programs), on 11 May 2018 at the KP plant in Bukowice near Brzeg Dolny. The meeting was attended by representatives of several manufacturers located across Lower Silesia to share insights and best practice to improve quality, reduce waste and energy consumption and increase employee involvement. Opening the event, the Klöckner Pentaplast Linpac Packaging Production representatives presented their business improvement program, a proprietary project implemented locally to move forward from the operational to the business management approach. Next, experts from Exence discussed a range of IT solutions that support the development and optimisation of  factory operation. The final presentation was from PwC experts, who explained how big data and data analytics can be used to improve the productivity and accuracy of sales and production planning, as well as ways to identify significant savings in energy costs. After the workshop came the factory visit, which participants always value.
