First Chairman's Dinner with Wielkopolska members

On 9 April, the BPCC invited CEOs of major firms located in Poznań and Wielkopolska for a BPCC Chairman's Dinner, which was a chance to discuss the Chamber's growth plans for the region.

The evening was officially opened by Antoni Reczek, the chairman of the BPCC's Board.

During the 23 years since it was established, the BPCC has never had so many opportunities to foster bilateral trade and investment between the UK and the Wielkopolska Region. Poznań is situated in the most economically developed region of Poland, closer to Berlin than to Warsaw. The city is focused on achieving success, grounded on a 1,000-year tradition of competence.

As Wielkopolska gains in importance in terms of inward investment, manufacturing industry and shared services, the BPCC is strengthening its presence in the region, introducing new activities and policy areas. The EU's 2014-20 financial perspective will create new opportunities in areas such as infrastructure and innovation for the region.

After a splendid dinner, Martyn O'Reilly, associate partner of Elgin Fund Management Group of Switzerland, known as the Whisky Ambassador, delighted the guests, taking them into the world of the finest Scottish malt whiskies, an integral part of the GREAT taste of Britain.

This was a spectacular culinary experience, accompanied by great wines selected by Andersia's sommeliers.

The evening ended up with cordial words of gratitude and farewell, and a promise to return to Poznań before long.
