Bydgoszcz, the capital of Polish rowing, will again be hosting the Wielka Wioslarska Regatta; this year's highlight will be a race between Oxford and Cambridge. Poland's best rowing crews will battle it out with champion eights from Germany and Latvia.
Special guest is the Her Majesty’s Ambassador in Poland – Ric Todd, Oxford graduate and former college oarsman.
This European-standard regatta with additional events such as a dragon boat race, competitions, well-known bands and TV personalities attracts large crowds. TVP will cover the event, broadcasting it locally and nationally level, including live coverage on Teleexpress. There will be sports news coverage in TVP and TVP2, TVP Sport and TV Polonia. There will also be coverage in the largest-circulation local paper, Express Bydgoski, which will publish a special regatta supplement.
