The year of 2007 was a perfect period for job searching or job changing.
|

Nearly every industry was looking for potential workers, so the candidates had no reason to complain. This trend has been proved by the periodical report “Specialist labour market in Q3 2007” drawn up by Pracuj.pl consultants. Last year, employers placed roughly 90 thousand classifieds more than in 2006.
In the preceding 12-month period, sales and trade, finance and insurance as well as heavy industry were the sectors, which provided the largest number of job opportunities.
|
Offers from these three areas of economy constituted ca. 40% of total classifieds placed in Pracuj.pl. Yet, the highest percentage increase referred to chemical industry and legal services (119% each).
Within the last 3 years some industries multiplied number of their job offers even by several times. The leaders originated from the following industries: finance, banking, insurance (over 500%) pharmaceutical (450%) or education, training and coaching (440%). Even the economy sectors that have taken low positions in the report can still be proud of the greater number of job offers. FMCG industry, a loss leader on the list, has reported the increase ranging at 184% over the previous 3 years.
Total number of classifieds published in Pracuj.pl within last 3 years almost quadrupled, with 53 thousand offers in 2005 compared to more than 202 thousand in 2007.

| A year of salespeople and finance experts
In 2007 almost 18% of total offers referred to employment in trade and sales. Companies particularly suffered from deficiency in manpower within this industry in the last quarter of 2007, placing 10 000 classifieds, i.e. ca. 1000 more as compared to Q3 2007.

- Sales companies have been particularly affected by lack of workforce on the labor market. This industry is featuring high rotation, so employers have to compete with each other bringing ideas on how to attract employees to their companies by fringe benefits or commissions. Numerous companies in this sector carry out continuous recruitment - comments Przemysław Gacek, CEO of Grupy Pracuj, an owner of Pracuj.pl. |

Accountants and HR people are leaders in 2007
Ceaseless interest in sales specialists has been also reported in the analysis of job offers by „Departments in companies”. In 2007 sales departments generated 40 000 vacancies, which meant double the result from 2006 and seven times more than the respective number from 2005.
In 2007 people looking for a job in technology (more than 10% of total offers) and financial (nearly 9% of total offers) departments could also get it immediately. However, the highest percentage growth in number of job offers in 2007 (by almost 150%) was reported in accountancy departments, with job offers appearing nearly 6 500 times the preceding year, and HR departments, providing job opportunities for over 4 000 potential employees (an increase by 140% as compared to 2006).
|
- Highly dynamic changes on the labor market in 2007 have significantly influenced the HR sector, which needs more and more recruitment and HRM specialists. On the other hand, increasing number of business entities prompted growing demand for accountants – adds Przemysław Gacek.
Moreover, the demand for specialists from IT Internet, e-commerce and R&D departments has reported a slight decrease as compared to 2006, with 1116 offers (9% less than in 2006) and 716 (11% down) respectively. In Q4 2007 number of vacancies in customer service and call center departments dropped a bit and, although throughout 2007 the number of job offers doubled as compared to 2006, the percentage growth was one of the lowest in the whole report.
