Report lost or stolen cards online via your mobile |
On 1st December the online site "Open Card Line", which can be accessed from a mobile phone, was launched ( www.opencardline.com ). This is the first stage of a global CSR project. Its main goal is to enable instant reporting of lost or stolen cards directly to the customer's bank.
Mobile website www.opencardline.com enables bank customers to make a quick call to the bank's cardline in just 3 simple steps. Moreover, this is possible just from the level of a mobile phone Internet browser. It means that if your cards (or even wallet or mobile phone) have been lost or stolen you can make an almost instant call direct to your bank as long as you have access to internet via a mobile (eg: borrowing a friend's phone).
The site is aimed at 20-35 years old, living in cities around the world. The places in which they study, work and enjoy themselves are notoriously also the places in which cards are most often lost or stolen. They are keen on multimedia mobile phones and have a good level of English.

Many banks run more than one card help line and sometimes when a card is reported lost or stolen, the report does not get processed correctly. This happened to the creator of Open Card Line, Mr Roman Mazur*, who once had to call his bank twice to ensure the report had been noted when his personal and business cards were stolen.
Many cardholders won't call the bank more than once and the message does not get dealt with effectively. Open Card Line will ensure customers get through to the correct contact in the bank without any fuss for the customer.
* Roman Mazur MBA, MBPCC is a Polish DIP Strategic Business Planning Consultant, living and working in London on the financial services market. He specialises in crisis management and new business development in retail banking. He is also an active member of the British Polish Chamber of Commerce and was awarded "Best in Corporate Social Responsibility" in the BPCC 2009 Annual Awards.
