New chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Poland

Olga Grygier – Siddons appointed as chairman of PwC in Poland; Andrew Friars steps in as a new Managing Partner for Advisory Division
PricewaterhouseCoopers is pleased to announce that as of 1st of July 2009 Olga Grygier – Siddons takes the role of chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Poland.

Olga has been with PricewaterhouseCoopers (earlier Coopers & Lybrand) since 1991 when she joined Corporate Finance team in London. In 2004 Olga moved to Poland to take role of Advisory Managing Partner in Poland. During her leadership Advisory Division has doubled its revenue and size and currently employs more than 150 experienced business advisors.

Olga Grygier has extensive experience (working in more than 20 European countries in last 22 years) in advising governments, local authorities and leading international corporates from energy and infrastructure sectors. She also has considerable experience in privatization, M&A and restructuring, PPP projects, gathered in Great Britain and Central Europe, including Poland. Olga was born in Poland, however lived in the United Kingdom for more than 20 years. Between 1998 and 2004, Olga acted as a Partner in the Corporate Finance Team in London working with infrastructure, public sector and energy clients on projects involving private and public sectors cooperation.
Olga is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Olga Grygier is married with two children. In her leisure time she likes to spend as much time as possible with her family, skiing and practicing yoga.

, who was chairman of PwC in Poland in 2004 - 2009, will continue to be a member of the CEE Regional Management Board i.e. to support PwC strategic activities and coordinate PwC business activities in the Baltic region.

 
Andrew Friars has been appointed as the Managing Partner of the PwC Poland Advisory Division from 1st of July.

He will continue with his regional responsibility to build on and develop new areas of consulting services for PwC in 16 Central European countries. Andrew has over 20 years of experience as a management consultant, advising business leaders across a wide range of industries, countries and cultures, including Europe, North America and Asia Pacific. He has acted as an advisor in start up, take-over and turn-around situations and has considerable experience in back office transformation. Andrew has led and advised on back office strategies and delivered large scale, multi-country transformation projects covering critical functional areas such as Finance, HR, Sourcing, Procurement, Contact Centres and IT. 

Andrew is a pioneer of the Business Process Outsourcing paradigm, designing and delivering one of the first BPO engagements in Europe in the mid- nineties. Since then Andrew has worked with many clients around the world helping evaluate, design and then deliver on their sourcing strategies.

Andrew is an Australian Chartered Accountant. He holds a degree in Commerce (accounting and finance) and a degree in Science (pure mathematics) both from the University of Western Australia
