An award-winning Leicestershire-based, specialist training and personal development company is appealing to local companies to take up FREE training, in a bid to help businesses continue to trade out of the current financial crisis
The LMT Co Ltd is currently offering NVQ Level 2 in Team Leading for all candidates over the age of 19, at absolutely no cost to the employer. This is all part of the Government’s Train To Gain initiative available via the Learning and Skills Council, and to date the LMT has put 13 successful candidates through their paces on behalf of Benson Box, Coalville. And are currently delivering to 20 more candidates, on behalf of Leicestershire companies.
“Employees should be making the most of this fantastic and genuine offer. Giving staff additional skills and the added confidence that investing in their training brings is one of the best ways of ensuring that your business is in a strong position to trade out of the economic downturn,” explained Mary Brooks, director, The LMT Co Ltd.

The NVQ Level 2 needs to be completed within 12 months. The course consists of six monthly training sessions at the LMT’s HQ in Sutton Bassett, Leicestershire. Candidates need to produce a short report for each unit of the course and will be observed and questioned in their workplace by their Assessor to prove and demonstrate competence.
To help small businesses, companies with less than 50 employees are able to apply for further funding to cover wages for staff for their time away being trained, upon successful completion of the programme. The team at the LMT is allocating their next batch of places now, for 2009 and will even help companies apply for the funding if required.
