British Polish Renewable Energy Forum

Poland is one of Europe’s laggards when it comes to renewable energy. Pressure from the European Commission, multinational organisations and NGOs will increase as Poland – dependent to an increasingly unacceptable degree on coal – struggles to meet EU targets for renewable energy.

Biofuels – Poland has the potential to be a major player in biofuel cultivation and processing – but should the country progress down this path? If so, what’s the future – bio-ethanol or bio-diesel? What will the side-effects of a policy push in the direction of biofuels?

Wind and wave energy – has Poland got the right conditions for harnessing energy from these natural sources?

Research and Development – what should Poland be doing to ensure that it has the necessary R&D base to develop new technologies in the area of renewable energy? Are targeted investment incentives the answer? How should business cooperate with Poland’s universities to turn concepts into marketable products?

What should Poland be doing in the shift to more environmentally-friendly energy generation?

For UK industry experts, analysts and investors, this get-together with Poland's top renewable energy people will offer strategic insights into the direction and pace of transformation in this sector, as well as the opportunity to make direct top-level contacts with key decision makers. The programme is designed to offer delegates from both countries the chance to exchange experiences face-to-face. Simultaneous translation in both directions will be available.
