BPCC members and friends met on Tuesday, 20 June 2006 at the Hotel Le Regina in Warsaw to celebrate the Midsummer Solstice.
Kupalnocka - 23/24 June - was celebrated in pagan times as
a night of wonderous, magical happenings (mainly focused on fertility
rites). Many of these pagan traditions have survived in Polish folk
traditions to this day.
Dance group Dom Tańca lead guests through the Kupalnocka traditions.
To give them energy, the chef of the hotel Le Regina
prepared plentiful food and drink. For the bold ones, ready to seek the
fern as it blooms into flower - on this very night - there was a
valuable prize. Sponsors have prepared surprises and lottery prizes for
the business card draw.
