Cushman & Wakefield Hotels established in the Czech Republic

    Cushman & Wakefield Hotels started operations in the Czech Republic in March 2007.

    The firm has announced the appointment of the leading specialist hotel team previously from CB Richard Ellis in Prague. The team’s major focus will be on expanding and developing the company’s agency and advisory work in the hotel sector, covering both the Czech and Slovak markets.

    The firm has also announced the appointment of leading specialist hotel teams from KPMG in London. These appointments are in line with the firm’s aim to build on its existing hotels team and significantly expand its presence and market share across EMEA.

    In Prague, C&W Hotels has recruited Stewart Coggans who will join as a Director – Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) along with Frederic Le Fichoux who will join as a Senior Analyst – CEE. The team will be based in Cushman & Wakefield’s Prague office.

    The team previously advised on high profile successful schemes such as the acquisition of the Hilton Prague and IBIS Karlin for EUR 145 million and the Carlton Hotel in Bratislava for EUR 87.5 million.

    “Launching the hotels service line is in line with the booming property market in the Czech Republic and across Central Europe.   Nick Pattie currently leads London-based KPMG hospitality and leisure advisory services and will be joining as Managing Director.

    Nick brings with him Philip Camble who will join as a Director and Paul Thomas who joins as an Associate Director.The team brings a depth of consultancy experience in supporting more than £4 billion of hotel transactions as well as resort business development throughout Europe and the Middle East. The team was instrumental in the recent acquisition of a portfolio of seven InterContinental Hotels for $440 million.

    These five appointments bring the total number of staff in C&W Hotels EMEA to 20 and complement the recent recruitment of Joel Goldman, Director and John McGuinness, Director Spa & Leisure, who both joined in January. Both are based at Cushman & Wakefield Hotels’ London headquarters.

    New service line - Spa and Leisure services
John McGuinness’ addition brings to the team a new area of expertise – Spa and Leisure services. As an ex-Director of Champneys Group, he has undertaken many Spa and Leisure assignments for successful projects throughout Europe. Joel Goldman joins having worked for Christies, Chesterton International and Key2 Hotels. His experience has been primarily focused on UK transactions and asset management, such as the purchase of the Marriott West India Quay in 2006.

    The hotels sector is a strategically important area for the firm and it is committed to developing the business to become the leading player within the next five years. These appointments position Cushman & Wakefield Hotels at the forefront of hotel consultancy and agency throughout EMEA.
