Appointments at Grant Thornton |
Barbara Stachowiak-Kowalska has been appointed Client
Service Director. Born in the UK of Polish-Irish parents she came to
Poland in 1992 for one year - just for a trip to get to know her
father's homeland and... she's decided to stay. In 1993 she was
appointed Executive Director of the (then) British Chamber of Commerce
in Poland.
14 years on she brings to her new company many years experience in
managing an international client base of the BPCC (current membership
is 420 companies). It was for services to British-Polish trade that she
was awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in 2005.
That year she also completed her MBA at Koźmiński Business School /
University of Bradford.
On the board of Sue Ryder Foundation she encourages others to become active and visit the charity shop on Bagatela 15.
After hours she enjoys best being with her family: husband Włodek and five year old twins. |
Łukasz Stobiecki is a state registered tax adviser and
has recently been appointed to head the tax department after five years
with the company. Łukasz graduated from Warsaw University, Faculty of
Law and Administration, so combines legal acumen with the ability to
interpret complex tax regulations - essential for the numerous
international clients whom he advises. He thrives on unraveling VAT
issues second only to his passion for the cinema. |
