Eddie Lawrenson – the new President of Provident Polska |
Eddie Lawrenson (53) has been appointed to the
position of Provident’s President. He succeded Mark Bardsley, who has
been promoted and now he will be responsible for the mother-company’s
further international development.
Eddie is not a stranger to Poland. Almost ten years ago he took active
part in setting-up Provident’s operations here in Poland.
Eddie joined Provident Financial, in UK, in 1972. as Development
Manager. Then he climbed up the career ladder experiencing different
areas of management and wide knowledge about the company. From 1997 to
2000 he held the Vice-President position in Provident Polska. That was
the time of a rapid and dynamic growth of the company, which from a
greenfield investment became one of the major player on the Polish loan
market.

Since 2001 Eddie has been responsible for building Provident position
on the Hungarian market. Thanks to his personal engagement, the
Hungarian section has been developed very successfully. At the moment,
there are 145 Provident offices in Hungary.
He says: “Poland is the biggest Provident Financial market overseas.
Therefore, managing Provident Polska means a great responsibility. We
do our best, myself and all employees, to meet our customers and
business partners requirements. It’s also a great pleasure to be here
again.”
“I’m really glad that Eddie Lawrenson is my successor,” says Mark Bardsley, “he is an ideal candidate for that position”.
Eddie is a football fun and his favourite team is Manchester City. He
enjoys sightseeing Polish cities and eating Polish-style duck stuffed
with apples.
He is married , has three children (two sons and daughter). Since a month he is also a grandfather to Sofie Eve.
