Artur Grajber became Executive Chef at the Sheraton Warsaw Hotel &Towers in July 2006. He is also culinary coordinator Warsaw Complex.
Artur (36) has been working in gastronomy for 16 years. In 1990 he
opened the first west-style restaurant in Poland – „Parnas”. Two years
later he moved to Bristol hotel, where he became Chef de Partie. In
1997 he opened „99” restaurant, which became best in the country in
1999.
Artur has been working for Starwood since 2002. He worked at the
Sheraton Warsaw Hotel & Towers as Executive Sous Chef, where he
cooked for President Kwaśniewski, President Putin and many other
prominent guests. From June 2003 to June 2006, he worked as Executive
Chef at The Westin Warsaw, where he served his own ‘fusion’ cuisine,
mixing the European ingredients with Far East culinary techniques.
Among his culinary mentors, Artur mentions two: Swiss Klaus Lenenberg
and Italian Vladimir Scanu, the Chefs of Bristol, whom Artur worked
with. Klaus was his diligence and systematic idol and Vladimir – the
champion of creativity and culinary imagination.
Artur prefers Mediterranean cuisine, specially Italian one. He loves
chocolate disserts. According to Artur „the only limit in cooking is
our imagination...”.
Marek Niemiec will become Executive Chef at the Sheraton Poznań hotel in July 2006.
Marek (33) has been working in gastronomy for 11 years. He took first
education in Otwock, and his first kitchen position - in Bristol hotel,
where he worked until 2001. At Bristol he had many positions – cook,
demi-chef and junior sous chef.
For the next 1, 5 year Marek worked as Executive Chef in Jachranka
Congress Centre, and became a member of Starwood family in June 2003,
when he started to work as a chef de partie in newly opened The Westin
Warsaw hotel. Soon, he was promoted to the position of junior sous
chef.
Marek, as an Executive Chef at the Sheraton Poznan, will begin
organizing his kitchen in August 2006. He will use a knowledge and
experience from 3 Starwood Polish hotels: Sheraton Warsaw Hotel &
Towers, The Westin Warsaw and Sheraton Krakow.
After work, Marek enjoys reading biography and documentary books. He
also likes thrillers and fantasy literature. Marek is married and has a
10-year-old daughter Anna. A special family member is his beloved
dachshund.

Janusz Korzyński has become Executive Chef at The
Westin Warsaw in July 2006. For the last 3 years he was Executive Sous
Chef, when he and Artur Grajber (ex Executive Chef) were a good and
creative team.
Janusz has an enormous 30 years of culinary experience. He graduated
Slupsk Gastronomy School and began his career in late 70s in the very
popular Karczmy Słupskie. His four-year-stay in North Africa, where he
was surrounded by many tastes and flavors, was a vital experience.
In 1991 Janusz moved to Warsaw and began his carrier in Marriott hotel,
where he had been working as a supervisor for 8 years. In 1999 he
started to work for Starwood as Executive Sous Chef at the Sheraton
Warsaw Hotel & Towers. Four years later he moved to The Westin
Warsaw and began working as an Executive Sous Chef.
Janusz prefers healthy, fit and visually attractive cuisine. He almost
does not cook for his family. He makes an exception – he is responsible
for all the family meetings and parties.
Janusz, 46, is married and has a son. In his spare time he plays
tennis, rides a bike and goes skiing. His other passions, different
than cooking, are finance, business and economy. |
